This Privacy Policy explains how Townloop collects, uses, stores, discloses and protects personal information when you use the Townloop website and mobile application (together, the “Services”).

If you disable location access, some location-based Townloop features may not work as intended.

When you switch to Host mode and create or manage an event, we may collect information including:

Information included in a published event may be visible to other Townloop users and members of the public.
User Content and Uploads
We may collect or process content that you choose to upload or provide through Townloop, including:

other content you voluntarily submit.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to upload and publish content that relates to other people.

4. Public Information
Townloop is designed around local event discovery and community participation.
Information you intentionally publish through an event listing, Host profile, business profile or other public feature may be visible to Townloop users and members of the public.

event details
event location
event images
Host or business information
other information you intentionally make public.
You are responsible for ensuring that content you publish does not disclose another person’s private information without permission.
5. Location Data
Townloop processes precise location information when location permission is enabled and location-based features are used.
Location information supports features such as:
nearby event discovery
maps
distance calculations
adjustable search radius.
You can change or remove Townloop’s location permission at any time through your device settings.
Townloop does not use your precise location for unrelated advertising purposes.

Townloop’s primary application infrastructure and core data storage are hosted using Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the Sydney, Australia region.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information against:

interference
unauthorised access
unauthorised disclosure
modification.
No internet-based service or storage system can guarantee absolute security.
7. Service Providers and Disclosure
We may disclose personal information to service providers where reasonably necessary to operate Townloop.

mapping and location functionality

diagnostics and crash reporting
push notifications

When an account deletion request is completed, personal information associated with the account is deleted or de-identified, except where information must reasonably be retained for:

Account deactivation or suspension is not treated as account deletion.

Important account, event, security or service communications are not considered marketing communications.

Townloop does not use precise location information for unrelated advertising purposes.
This section applies only to business or advertising features that you choose to use.
15. Children
Townloop is intended for users aged 18 years and over.
People under 18 must not create or use a Townloop account.
Townloop does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a person under 18 in connection with a Townloop account, we take reasonable steps to delete that information and close the relevant account.
